Police officers Monday night stormed the stage at a Bernie Sanders rally in Durham, New Hampshire as The Strokes played a song about cops.
The Independent reported that a police officer tried to speak to lead singer Julian Casablancas and he turned away from the officer and sang, “New York City Cops, They ain’t too smart.”
Of course the liberal media bragged there were 7,000-8,000 people at Bernie’s New Hampshire rally when in reality it was a concert featuring The Strokes.
Here are some of the lyrics to the song, “New York City Cops” that was pulled from their 2001 album after 9/11:
New York City cops, New York City cops
New York City cops, but they ain’t too smart
New York City cops, New York City cops
New York City cops, but they ain’t too smartWell, kill me now ’cause I let you down
I swear one day I’m gonna leave this town
Stop!
Yes, I’m leaving, ’cause it just won’t work
And they act like Romans, but they dress like Turks
Some time in your prime
See me, I like the summertime but, hey
Bernie Sanders introduced The Strokes Monday night during his campaign event.
Lead singer Casablancas said of Sanders, “As the only truly non-corporate candidate, Bernie Sanders represents our only chance to overthrow corporate power and help return America to democracy.
“This is why we support him.”
