President Trump’s Fox News Coronavirus Special Was Highest Rated Town Hall in Cable News History (WATCH)

Posted on 26 March 2020

The Fox News special with President Donald Trump and members of his coronavirus task force on Tuesday was the highest rated town hall in the history of cable news.

The virtual town hall had 4,409,000 viewers between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. according to ratings from Nielsen. It also has over a million views on YouTube.

Hosted by Bill Hemmer and Harris Faulkner, the unusual forum was broadcast from the White House and asked many questions that were sent in by viewers.

The previous high record for town hall viewers was also held by President Trump — though it only lasted a couple of weeks before he broke it himself. His March 5 Fox News town hall from Pennsylvania had shattered the earlier record when it was viewed by 4,180,000 people.

President Trump has been dominating the airwaves over the past few weeks as he seeks to inform and comfort Americans who are currently stuck at home to stop the spread of the coronavirus — and people are clearly loving him for it.

A whopping 60% of Americans approve of President Trump’s handling of the pandemic.

“And voters are largely giving Trump positive marks for his handling of the pandemic, with 94% of Republicans, 60% of independents, and 27% of Democrats approving of his efforts. That’s higher than his general approval rating among each group,” Bloomberg News reports.

His approval rating has been soaring in general, and is currently at 50% according the new Hill-HarrisX poll. This is the highest he has polled in two years, since August 2018, when he was at 51%.

The pollsters found that 85 percent of Republican voters approve of the president, while just 19 percent of Democratic voters do. The very important voting block of people who consider themselves independents are now evenly split at 50 percent.
