Telemundo Reporter Mocks Trump for Suggesting That a Positive DACA Solution is Near

Posted on 26 June 2020

With the presidential elections quickly approaching, the liberal Latino networks are doubling down on their contempt for President Donald Trump. At Noticias Telemundo Mediodía, the network´s midday newscast, anchor Felicidad Aveleyra openly mocked Trump for making a positive comment about the future of DACA beneficiaries. Watch as Aveleyra salty frames this news report about a Supreme Court decision upholding express deportations for illegal immigrants, which turned out to be a huge plug for the network´s in-house immigration lawyer:   FELICIDAD AVELEYRA: On his visit to Arizona, our reporter asked President Trump about the future of DACA, after the Supreme Court determined that it cannot be overturned at this time. This is what he answered- right there, next to the wall. FRANCISCO CUEVAS: Mr. President, with all the problems that you're facing right now, why are you determined to end DACA?  PRESIDENT TRUMP: We're working on it, we're working on that, and they're good happening with DACA. And this week we've been working. The Democrats have been playing with DACA for years and haven't done anything. I'll get it done, I'll get it done, and we will. Good things will happen for DACA recipients. And pretty soon. CUEVAS: Do you have a message for dreamers? Do you have a message for the dreamers? TRUMP: The message is put your chin up, good things are going to happen. You're going to watch. AVELEYRA: Good things are going to happen? That's weird…isn't it? We'll have to see what he's talking about. Avelyra framed the report about the Supreme Court ruling that “gives the Trump administration a green light to follow and expand a program of express deportations of undocumented immigrants”, to fall into the ‘anti-immigrant Trump’ narrative, stressing that it was “heavily criticized by activists and lawyers because they claim that migrants are kicked out of the country without having a chance to conduct their process.” The bottom line is that immigration lawyers profit massively from illegal immigration and the complex immigration process; just scroll down to the very end of the transcript below, to see why Telemundo, along with the rest of the liberal Hispanic media, goes all-out to discredit President Trump: “If you have any questions about this and other immigration issues, send them to the Facebook account of attorney Alma Rosa Nieto, the immigration attorney, she will give you the answers to some of your questions.” In dollars and cents, lawyers make up a good chunk of advertisers in local and national Hispanic programming, as well as with well-known brands that, as sponsors of news programs such as Noticias Telemundo Mediodía, are active participants of the Hispanic networks stated agenda to cancel the current administration. Here is a partial list of Noticias Telemundo advertisers, if you wish to contact them: L’Oreal, Dunkin Donuts, Microsoft, Colgate, Huggies, Wendy´s, Corona Premier, General Mills and M&M Mars. FELICIDAD AVELEYRA: A federal appeals court has given President Donald Trump a meaningful victory in his immigration policy because he has overturned another injunction that has blocked his efforts to expand the number of migrants who could be deported in an expedited process. Francisco Fajardo helps us to better understand the scope of this decision. Good afternoon, Francisco. Go ahead. FRANSICO FAJARDO: Felicidad, the decision of the Superior Court gives the Trump administration a green light to follow and expand a program of express deportations of undocumented immigrants, despite a lawsuit against this measure. The modality, also known as Fast Track Apprehensions, had mostly been applied near the border to expressly deport newly arrived undocumented immigrants. But now it would apply nationwide to undocumented migrants who can't prove they've been on American soil for more than two weeks. The move is heavily criticized by activists and lawyers because they claim that migrants are kicked out of the country without having a chance to carry out their process. ALMA ROSA NIETO: This court ruling is too negative for the immigrant community and for people who want to fight a court case. If you are detained anywhere in the American union and have no more than two years in the country or proof thereof, you could be subject to an express hearing in which they would quickly decide the person's future and whether to stay or be deported expressly. FAJARDO: And this happens at the same time that The Washington Post reports that about 13,000 U.S. citizenship and immigration service employees could face extended furloughs. The agency relies mostly on the money from visa applications. Visas that ironically continue to be temporarily suspended for now by the Trump administration. Felicidad, that's what I have. Back to you. AVELEYRA: Thank you very much Francisco. During his visit to Arizona, our reporter asked President Trump about the future of DACA, after the Supreme Court determined that it cannot be overturned at the moment. This is what he answered right there, next to the wall.
