Liberals like to pretend that conservatives have the market cornered on conspiracies. But the far-left in the media have ran straight into a fever swamp of delusion about the 2020 election.
Long-time Trump hater Alec Baldwin came up with his zaniest conspiracy theory yet on Friday, when the actor accused the President of planning to use the nation’s military to “stop the election” in November if he fails to win a second term in the White House.
Baldwin made the ridiculous claim while referring to the situation in Portland, Oregon, where unidentified federal agents have been deployed to combat the ongoing riots there.
According to an article posted on Monday by Tyler McCarthy, a reporter for the Fox News Channel, Baldwin tweeted the following message:
The “police” activity in Portland and lack of outrage over/resistance to it tells us how Trump could stop the election in November.
It’s his only hope.
Here's the actual tweet:
McCarthy noted that the 30 Rock actor’s words came just one day after he shared a message from Esquire on the issue and “making a similar argument” that Trump could look at Portland as a “rehearsal” for “something more nefarious in November.”
“This is Trump’s election strategy,” Baldwin added before noting: "A major American city is being softly Pinochet’ed in broad daylight. And, if we know one thing, if this president and his administration get away with this, it will only get worse."
As if that wasn’t bizarre enough, the actor posted an even more curious message on Sunday, when he called for the GOP occupant of the White House to resign and save “his supporters the money and the effort.”
“Just go,” he tweeted. “Resign. Spare your party, and let them rebuild."
An interesting aspect of this situation is the fact that Baldwin released his comments through the HAB Foundation, which stands for “Hilaria (Baldwin’s wife) and Alec Baldwin,” and supposedly deals with the arts along with “education, skills acquisition and empowerment.”
