Last summer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez staged a war on Jeff Bezos, by stopping Amazon from opening headquarters in New York City. In doing so, the Congresswoman effectively kissed goodbye to 25,000 jobs in the city. Yet at Telemundo, AOC came through as the savior of the unemployed –albeit illegals- in a report that all but portrayed her as akin to a Robin Hood who will take money from the rich to give to the poor.
Watch as midday anchor Felicidad Aveleyra opens the segment by saying that AOC is asking the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, to give the money to workers who are facing financial difficulties – illegal workers, that is:
FELICIDAD AVELEYRA: It's time to levy new taxes on the rich. That request comes from Democratic Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is asking the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, to give the money to workers who are facing financial difficulties. Maria Vargas-Pion, tell us about this initiative backed by a hunger strike, by the way. Go ahead.
MARIA VARGAS-PION: Good afternoon Felicidad. The workers are staging a hunger strike to ask for the creation of a financial assistance fund (with which) to help undocumented people. They're basically demanding that Gov. Andrew Cuomo to set up a fund to help these undocumented people who, as we know, they haven't, they’ve not received assistance from the federal government. Specifically, they´re calling for a tax on millionaires in order to raise at least $5 million to help undocumented people, who as we said before, work here and pay taxes and the federal government does not help them. Listen.
...
VARGAS-PION: And Felicidad, this protest is being held here at Madison Square Park, in front of one of the apartments of billionaire Jeff Bezos, who as we know owns Amazon.
The Telemundo news report would have passed as another move to hail Ocasio-Cortez as the prophet of equality and justice for all – especially illegal aliens. However, a last minute comment by reporter Maria Vargas-Pion revealed the true reason for the protest and “hunger strike”: AOC´s personal vendetta against one those billionaires she loathes- Jeff Bezos – at the expense of 25,000 of her U. S. citizen constituents who could very well be employed today.

PROTESTER: Many essential workers that have been excluded, although they are workers and pay taxes, were not included in the economy package.
VARGAS-PION: And Felicidad, this protest is being held here at Madison Square Park, in front of one of the apartments of billionaire Jeff Bezos, who as we know owns Amazon. That's all the information we have from New York City. Maria Vargas-Pion, back to the studio with you.
