Lefties are so desperate to dump on Donald Trump that they are launching people who troll him on social media into high profile celebrity careers, no real talent required.
The latest anti-Trump starlet to rise in the middle of the anti-Trump media maelstrom is Sarah Cooper, a woman who literally lip syncs Trump speeches on social media app TikTok for millions of views. Granted, no one here is knocking her entrepreneurial instincts. There’s a market of snowflakes out there desperate to laugh at the man that keeps them up in the middle of the night, and Cooper has capitalized on it.
Still calling her routine comedy and giving her a mainline Netflix special because she can mime the bad orange man is more an indictment on the state of comedy itself and the mental health of your average media consumer than an endorsement of her talent.
CNN.com reported on August 12 that Cooper, a former author, comedian, and now social media anti-Trump prankster is getting a Netflix special “full of vignettes dealing with issues of politics, race, gender, class, and other light subjects." Why? Because she had a viral video where she mouthed the speech Trump gave on using bleach to cure coronavirus?
Now she’s a pundit? Geez, these are some desperate hours for entertainment industry heads.
The outlet added that Cooper “will be joined by a fantastic array of special guests who will participate in short interviews, sketches and more shenanigans.” Even famous entertainers like SNL alum and Bridesmaids actress Maya Rudolph and Russian Doll’s Natasha Lyonne are involved as the show’s joint directors.
Perhaps we’ll be privy to seeing Maya Rudolph’s famous, Emmy-nominated Kamala Harris impression in one of these “vignettes,” perhaps handcuffing Cooper as she portrays the president making his 2021 perp walk out of the oval office.
According to her bio, Miss Cooper’s real claim to fame was her “50-second clip called ‘How to Medical.’” In the skit, Cooper "regurgitates Trump’s proposed COVID-19 cures of UV light and disinfectant.” Ah yes, “regurgitates” someone else’s words. Get this lady a network late night slot.
Though Cooper and her anti-Trump videos have landed her the next best thing. She’s been endorsed by “The Tonight Show, Ellen, The New York Times and countless others,” and has been retweeted by “Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Stiller, Halle Berry, Chrissy Teigen and Cher.” Hollywood loves the Trump bashing so much she even got a gig as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 11, where she interviewed actual comedians like Ben Stiller and of course made jokes about a certain “very stable genius.”
Well that’s so good for Cooper, who is now a household name due solely to the industry’s utter loathing of the president. Hopefully she starts giving him writing credits at some point here because he’s done the hard part for her.
