Take MSNBC and CNN this morning [please!], and you have a classic demonstration of liberal-media tactics. Paint Republicans as "cranks and misfits," while portraying Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as "super-centrist."
On Morning Joe, a snide and sneering Joe Scarborough claimed the speakers at the opening night of the RNC convention offerred:
"A bizarre collection of alternative facts and alternative realities told by cranks and misfits."
Among those RNC speakers were Tim Scott and Nikki Haley. So tell us, Joe: are Scott and Haley "cranks," or are they "misfits?"
Scarborough singled Haley out for insult, sarcastically saying "whatever she wants, I hope it’s worth it for her" to support President Trump.
During the same hour over on CNN's New Day, a supposed "reporter" at Yahoo News claimed that the Republican convention sounded like fringy CPAC: "At CPAC every year there's a marrying of fringe parts of the conservative party and more mainstream. And there they paint kind of intangible, theoretical villains over tangible ones. So, we heard a lot about doom and gloom and socialism. Which might have worked if Bernie Sanders were the nominee. But Biden and Harris are super-centrist!"
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris: "super-centrist?"
Biden: who boasted he'd be the "most progressive president in history?"
Kamala Harris, whose record reveals her to be the most liberal Senator—to the left of even Bernie Sanders?
That kind of "super-centrist?"
Morning Joe's slurring of RNC speakers as "cranks and misfits" was sponsored in part by Choice Hotels, and Clear Choice.
CNN's airing of the false claim that Biden and Harris are "super-centrist" was sponsored in part by Whole Foods, and Proctor & Gamble, maker of Dawn.
Here are the transcripts.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Ladies and gentlemen, your 2020 Republican [sneering laughter] National Convention. Wow! Good morning, it’s — I just — you know, Willie, I just don’t know where to go with what we all saw yesterday and what we saw last night.
I was thinking back, people deeply offended in 1992 by Pat Buchanan’s [more sneering laughter] speech. And I mean, let me tell you something, that was — that was Churchill in the House of Commons in 1940 compared to everything we saw last night. A bizarre collection of alternative facts and alternative realities told by cranks and misfits that would never be allowed inside any convention before this.
. . .
You just go down the list. And even Nikki Haley, whatever she wants, I hope it’s worth it for her . . . Again, it was just, again, people were willing to go and shame themselves last night, and create an alternative reality of facts.

ALISYN CAMEROTA: Joining us now is Brittany Shepherd, she's a national politics reporter for Yahoo News. Also with us, CNN Washington correspondent Ryan Nobles. It’s great to have both of you. Brittany, they had planned to be, you know, shiny, happy people, and then went dark and dystopian right away! So, what did you hear last night?
BRITTANY SHEPHERD: Yeah, Alisyn, I heard officials told us this is planned to be uplifting four nights of remarks. We all know that Trump is out of his element with overtures to community. There’s a reason why we don’t hear Trump being a unifier-in-chief in rallies for the last 3 1/2 years. I think it’s important to understand the task at hand the Republicans have, right? Biden is leading Trump in several battleground state polls, 50% or close to it, so the GOP has to woo these undecideds, and kind of pull back voters from Trump [sic].
And I doubt know about you guys, but last night reminded me a lot of CPAC than a fireside chat. At CPAC every year there's a marrying of fringe parts of the conservative party and more mainstream. And there they paint kind of intangible, theoretical villains over tangible ones.
So, we heard a lot about doom and gloom and socialism. Which might have worked if Bernie Sanders were the nominee. But Biden and Harris are super-centrist!
