A black woman who brutally murdered her adopted white daughter had performed a standup routine joking about child abuse.
Ariel Robinson, 29, was the winner of the Food Network’s show Worst Cooks in America and drew big laughs as she joked about throat punching her children in a stand up comedy routine, prior to murdering the little girl.
Ariel Robinson, 29, and Jerry Robinson, 34, were charged last week with homicide by child abuse of their 3-year-old adopted daughter, Victoria Smith.
South Carolina’s Simpsonville Police Department said in a statement that the victim was admitted to Prisma Health Richland Hospital and pronounced dead after authorities found the child unresponsive. Investigators later concluded that “the victim’s death was the direct result of physical abuse,” the New York Times reports.
The small child was covered in blunt force trauma injuries.
In a video of Ariel’s comedy routine unearthed and posted to social media, she joked about threatening to abuse her children in front of a representative from the adoption agency — and being approved to adopt the baby girl anyways.
The routine is featured after the news report in this video:

The Food Network has now pulled the season of the show starring Robinson.
Both Ariel and Jerry Robinson are being held without bond at the Greenville County Detention Center. If convicted, they could both face 20 years to life in prison.
