Immigration may rule supreme, but if its twisted coverage of President Joe Biden’s executive order repealing the Mexico City Policy is any indication, Univision holds the rest of the liberal policy platter in high regard and has no compunction in foisting those preferences upon an unsuspecting audience.
Below is a comparison between Univision and Telemundo, and how both networks covered the Biden Administration’s removal of the requirement that overseas non-governmental organizations (NGOs) certify that they will not “perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning” prior to receiving U.S. government funding. The clips are very brief, but there is nonetheless a stark difference between them:
JANET RODRIGUEZ, UNIVISION: Additionally, the president signed another executive order in order to protect womens' reproductive health.
…
JOSE DÍAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO: (Biden) reversed a policy that bans (taxpayer) funding of international organizations that promote abortion.
That's the whole thing, by the way. Five seconds on Univision, and seven on Telemundo. To be clear, both major networks covered the repeal of the Mexico City Policy as an afterthought to their coverage of Biden’s executive order expanding the open enrollment period for Obamacare. But at least Telemundo’s seven-second afterthought was partially accurate and uttered the “A” word (even if, on the other hand, they omitted the fact that the policy also denied funding to orgs that actually performed abortions).
Univision, on the other hand, conducted itself like a network consumed by the thirst to win a Maggie Award. The network has long carried water for the abortion industry, generally, and Planned Parenthood specifically. Among other things, Univision: suppressed coverage of the Center for Medical Progress videos that exposed Planned Parenthood’s fetal organ racket, used Zika as a justification to promote expanded abortion overseas, and even joined Planned Parenthood’s “PinkOut” campaign.
It doesn’t come as a surprise, then, that Univision’s White House correspondent would use her 5 seconds to spin Biden’s repeal of the Mexico City Policy as something to “protect women’s reproductive health”. This vague editorial description of the executive order conceals its true purpose- to fund promotion (and subsequent performance) of abortions in the countries of origin of a significant number of Univision's viewers- viewers who might be horrified at the policy.
Viewers who would be horrified that the network that they depend on for news actually engages in pro-abortion activism.
The market continues to cry out for an alternative.
This grotesque spin was brought to you by T-Mobile. Call them and let them know that their dollars are sponsoring abortion lobby propaganda masquerading as news.
