Arizona Border Patrol were placed on alert after a very specific tip about two migrants planning to illegally cross the border to kill a cop this week.
One of the men named in the alert is Eduardo Molina-Flores, a 49-year-old Mexican man who is on a Homeland Security watchlist.
The “Be on the Lookout” bulletin sent to Border Patrol agents was obtained by the Washington Times, who reports that the tip was “uncorroborated,” but very specific.
The alert had a location on federal land, and time, early Thursday morning, in which the men are allegedly planning to try and cross.
“It has been reported that the subject’s intent is to kill a local law enforcement officer,” the Border Patrol said in the bulletin, titled “BOLO-Officer Safety/Situational Awareness/Armed Suspect.”
The alert was labeled “Law Enforcement Sensitive.” It did not say which agency the men were planning to target.
“The warning comes as agents and sheriff’s departments along the border report growing incidents of violence in encounters with migrants, who are surging north right now,” the report states.
