Sunday’s Grammys show featured hypersexual performances interwoven with politically charged content. The good news: nobody watched.
The 63rd annual Grammy award show featured many A-list celebrities including Harry Styles, Billy Eilish, and Taylor Swift, yet the ratings were still a record low. Deadline reported that the Grammys this year were the least watched Grammys show in history with less than half the amount of viewers as last year. Was it the fact that there’s still a global pandemic to work around, or perhaps Americans didn’t feel like being bombarded by left-wing messaging and pornographic performances.
Although the show was broadcast on CBS and viewers had access on cable, CBS.com, the CBS app, and the Paramount+ streaming service, only 8.8 million viewers tuned in to the nearly four hour show. Back in 2020, 18.7 million people watched, so the early number viewership was down by 53% from last year. Back in 2006, which was previously noted as the record low, views still reached 17 million.
The Grammys wasn’t the only show that suffered in views this year. The Super Bowl hit a 15-year low and was down to 96.4 million views which is significantly less than last year’s 102 million views. The Golden Globes 2021 also hit a low with a 63% drop from 2020.
Not only were the views themselves down but the ratings for content were also down this year. Among 18-49 year olds, the show only received a 2.1 rating. Last year, the show received a 5.4 from adults in the same range. Maybe they finally noticed that this show, and others like it, are simply getting too woke.
It’s no wonder why the ratings took a nosedive. This year’s Grammys were gross.
Cardi B. and Megan Thee Stallion dropped jaws with a sexually explicit, x-rated performance featuring a stripper pole, little to no clothing, a giant bed, and lots of twerking to “WAP.”
There was a tribute to the BLM protests where former Women's March Leader Tamika Mallory charged: “President Biden, we demand justice, equity, policy and everything else that freedom encompasses.”
Singer and songwriter H.E.R won a Grammy Award for her protest track “I Can’t Breathe” regarding the death of George Floyd.
Rapper Lil Baby performed “The Bigger Picture” which featured a White officer shooting an unarmed Black man.
The over the top left-wing theatrics undoubtedly turned away most level headed folk and probably some of the leftist nutties too. People are tired of in-your-face politics flooding mainstream media.
Unfortunately for the Grammys, and most shows this year as it seems, the numbers are incomparable to last year due in part to hyperpolitical and erotic focuses. Expect the same when the Oscars air on April 25.
