Netflix and Taylor Swift are ‘Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together’

Posted on 01 March 2021

#RespectTaylorSwift is currently trending on Twitter as fans join together in support of the singer’s rebuke of Netflix. On Feb 24 Netflix released a new series Ginny & Georgia and the show has already gotten attention from A-list celebrities. Most recently, T-Swift tweeted how upset she was regarding a line in the show that mentioned how she goes “through men” pretty fast. But, per mob mentality, her fans (Swifities) were quick to show how personally affected they all felt by the “misogynistic joke” on the show.  Swift’s tweet bashing Ginny & Georgia is already sporting over 100K retweets and counting since the Swift fandom is a massive and ruthless group. Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY. Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you ? Happy Women’s History Month I guess pic.twitter.com/2X0jEOXIWp — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) March 1, 2021 The woke 2021 mob even brought up another show, Degrassi: Next Class, that made a similar joke about Swift back in 2017:“Taylor Swift made an entire career off her exes.” And even though she currently has 16 songs out about breakups, quite literally proving the point she’s crying over, fans have undeniable loyalty for their “queen.”  I didn’t care for this show, but the implication here — that a corporation should neuter its artists’ content to avoid offending more powerful and famous past collaborators — is really chilling. I predict Netflix will memory-hole this joke and apologize within 24 hours. https://t.co/KhZtyKaS8L — Daniel D'Addario (@DPD_) March 1, 2021   ? | “RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT” is currently the 8th trending topic after Netflix made ‘jokes’ about her in two of their original series. pic.twitter.com/pUn4NBMjsh — Taylor Swift News ? (@TSwiftNZ) March 1, 2021 Swifties didn’t even keep the ball in the Twitter court. They went over to the Netflix Instagram page to make jabs there as well. Netflix posted a scene from Ginny & Georgia about it being a Monday and internet sleuths blasted the post with “RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT” and “apologize to taylor swift” comments.  Fans on both platforms brought up March 1 being the start of Women's History Month and how the line in the show was anti-feminist and not “FuNnY” to 2021 wokies. Netflix just isn’t leftie enough. Shocker. Not! Swift is vocal about her very left wing views. She voted for Biden and resents conservatives, and she’s proud of her alliance with LGBTQ activists. Swift has also been a major feminist for years, so it was no surprise that she didn’t approve of the “horse shit” said about her in Ginny & Georgia. Back in 2015 Swift told Maxim: “Misogyny is ingrained in people from the time they are born. So to me, feminism is probably the most important movement that you could embrace, because it’s just basically another word for equality.”  She’s a professional victim; Netflix could have seen this coming. It appears Swift is unable to “Shake it Off” this time, and Swifties are even more stubborn than her. The humorless feminism Swift is exhorting is so common among Hollywood elitists and the Twitter mob alike who think everyone cares about their feelings. Swift complained that the “lazy, deeply sexist joke” should have been left in 2010 … maybe she should have left her antics and tantrums back in 2010 too. Netflix however just wasn’t woke enough.  By the cancel culture death rates in the media today, Netflix should be worried.
