Independent journalist and former European Parliament candidate Tommy Robinson has endorsed Laura Loomer’s congressional run.
Laura, 26, is currently running for office in Florida’s 21st district — which happens to be the voting residence of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania.
“Laura Loomer has been the face of the fight against Big Tech censorship,” Robinson told The Gateway Pundit. “A vote for her is a vote against censorship.”
Loomer is one of the most banned political commentators, and now candidates for office, in the nation — having been kicked off Twitter, Facebook, Uber, Lyft, PayPal, GoFundMe, and other platforms for her fierce and controversial criticism of Islam.
Like Loomer, Robinson faced extreme censorship by Big Tech during his own run for office over his similarly bold stances on Islam.
On Tuesday evening, Robinson and a large group of his supporters posted a video with a banner encouraging Loomer’s run.
Loomer told the Gateway Pundit that she is thrilled to have Robinson’s support and noted that he is one of the few people on the planet who understands the election interference by Big Tech that she is currently facing.
“I was thrilled to see Tommy Robinson and his supporters in the UK showing support for my congressional campaign! Along with myself, Tommy is one of the most extreme examples of what can happen to a person and their livelihood when they are targeted politically by the radical left and big tech for their political speech and investigative journalism. Tommy Robinson is a fellow free speech hero who knows what it’s like to be silenced by big tech for speaking out against Islamic terrorism, and while he’s not an American, he is one of the only other people on the planet who also understands how it feels to have big tech commit election interference in a campaign,” Loomer told the Gateway Pundit.
Loomer added that when she is elected she will fight against what Big Tech has done to people like her and Robinson.
“When Tommy ran for office last year, Facebook and twitter denied his political campaign equal access. Similarity, big tech won’t allow my congressional campaign to have twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or PayPal. Tommy is my brother across the pond, and when I’m elected, I will combat big tech to ensure that what has happened to me and Tommy never happens to anyone else in America ever again,” Loomer added.
Robinson was arrested for contempt of court while filming outside the trial of a Pakistani grooming gang in Leeds in 2018, as the case was under a reporting ban. The arrest and same-day imprisonment led to thousands of people going out in the streets to protest. Though he was eventually released, he was retried on the same charges and sent back to prison for nine weeks the following year.
Robinson later ran for European Parliament despite being banned from most social media platforms. Anyone who dared to support the campaign was also censored.
In a shocking interview with Deadline, Facebook’s Head of Communications for the Nordic Region admitted to censoring virtually everything positive connected to Robinson.
Loomer recently filed a formal Federal Election Commission complaint against Twitter for providing in-kind corporate contributions to her opponent, Democrat Congresswoman Lois Frankel, by censoring her from the platform.
The candidate has also inspired a bill to stop political censorship by Big Tech platforms. The bill, introduced last month by Florida State Senator Joe Gruters, awards a minimum of $75,000 in damages against social media companies that “deletes or censors the user’s religious speech or political speech; or uses an algorithm to disfavor or censure the user’s religious speech or political speech.” It will also bar tech platforms from using “the social media website user’s alleged hate speech as a basis for justification or defense of the social media website’s actions at trial.”
