No official information has been released yet on the reported shooting death of DHS whistleblower Philip Haney in California. However, friends and others with reported familiarity with the case are posting comments. As this is an ongoing investigation with few known facts publicized, suicide or murder can not be definitively ruled in or out as of this time. However, the circumstances do not favor suicide.
TGP has reached out to the Amador County Sheriff’s office for comment and we are awaiting a response.
Philip Haney was the co-author with Art Moore of the book, See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.
On Friday morning, a local blog, ThePinetree.net, made what appears to be the initial report, based on dispatch records, on what is believed to be the death of Haney:
Drytown, CA…Body with Gunshot Wound Found Next To Vehicle Near SR-124 & SR-16. Caltrans workers were the first on scene and reported the incident. No word yet on if this was crime related or a suicide.

Former New York City police officer John Cardillo reported his sources as saying no weapon was found at the scene:
“I’ve spoken with LE sources familiar with the Phil Haney (Obama admin DHS whistleblower) death investigation. Right now, evidence suggests one round to chest, no weapon found nearby, indicating, for now anyway, that it was not suicide. But it’s ongoing”

And from friends, one who had prayed with Haney on Tuesday and texted with him on Wednesday, and one who had lunch with Haney last month:
“I am devastated to hear my dear friend Phil Haney has passed. I was texting with him on Wednesday and he had just returned from his sisters and was praising God for a breakthrough! I had prayed with him on Tuesday.”
“My friend Phil Haney was found shot yesterday in CA. I had lunch with him a month ago. He warned something could happen to him. He was to get married in a month. It will be falsely called a suicide.”

Haney’s wife died last year, according to friend Frank Gaffney.
As you may know, we lost this week one of our most brilliant, most dedicated and most devout comrades-in-arms: Philip Haney.
While the details are sketchy at the moment, Phil went missing on Wednesday in the area he called home in northern California to which he returned after the passing of his beloved wife, Francesca, following a long struggle with a series of terrible health afflictions. On Friday morning, a sheriff’s deputy finally found his body with a gunshot wound to the chest.
As of now, we have no word about suspects or motives…
