Actress Natalie Portman Claims White Privilege Duped Her Into Liking Police

Posted on 12 June 2020

Natalie Portman is the latest famous person to bow before the false tenets of the Black Lives Matter movement, going out of her way to renounce her former appreciation of policemen, because she’d rather give up some semblance of law and order than be called a racist. The Star Wars and Black Swan star doubled down on June 9 on her widely-criticized approval for BLM’s main initiative, “Defunding the Police,” sharing an Instagram  post in which she explained her rationalization of the far left political agenda. Last week, the Oscar-nominated actress had signed a letter composed by various “racial justice” orgs related to Black Lives Matter that called for the removal of money from the nation’s police forces. Of course for most law-abiding citizens, this has come off as one of the most extreme and dangerous leftwing policy proposals in a long time. A recent poll puts support for reallocating police funds at only 16% of the population. Portman apparently was with the majority, according to her recent Instagram post. She was initially fearful of the policy, but revealed that the insidious BLM propaganda convinced her to discard her own reservations because of “White Privilege.” In her post she wrote, “When I first heard #defundthepolice, I have to admit my first reaction was fear. My whole life, police have made me feel safe. But that’s exactly the center of my white privilege.” Oh no. Portman’s been compromised by the mind virus, where she explains that her trust of police was only due to her misleading whiteness. She continued, “the police make me as a white woman feel safe, while my black friends, family and neighbors feel the opposite: police make them feel terror. And for good reason.” Though, Portman can’t surely know that about all of her peers. What about the black small business owner in Brooklyn, NY whose store was smashed and looted? Can Portman’s racist generalization apply to her? Of course not. Still Portman flashed more BLM propaganda, adding, “Police are the 6th leading cause of death for black men in this country. These are not isolated incidents. They are patterns and part of the system of over-policing of black Americans.” Yes, down with the system. BLM and its famous puppets refuse to fathom that George Floyd’s death was an individual evil act of a wicked police officer.  The facts, however, refute Portman’s claim that there is a system of “over-policing” of blacks. City Journal’s Heather Mac Donald wrote that “Policing today is driven by crime data and community demands for help. Victim reports send police disproportionately to minority communities because that is where people are most being hurt by violent street crime.” Mac Donald also cited data showing that “for the last five years, the police have killed about 1,000 civilians a year, the majority of those victims armed or otherwise dangerous. In 2019, the police killed 235 blacks, most of them also armed or dangerous, out of 1,004 police shooting victims overall.”  The author also clarified that out of American’s 75 largest counties, blacks comprised “60% of all murder and robbery defendants.”  If anything, Mac Donald’s detailed analysis shows us just how necessary policing is, still Portman’s post asserted that the system is beyond reform. The actress added, “Reforms have not worked. Minneapolis, where George Floyd was murdered, is one of the most progressive police forces in the country, having undergone extensive anti-bias training.” Oh, but you know, Portman will definitely vote Dem again, even if they don’t “defund the police.”
