NBC has launched an orchestrated effort to lie about the radical left-wing ideology of Democratic California Senator and vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Just minutes after Joe Biden selected her on Tuesday, the network claimed leftists would “hand-wring” over her being too moderate, then on Wednesday, it declared she had a “moderate political reputation,” finally on Thursday, the propaganda media outlet actually argued Harris was under “scrutiny” for being “not progressive enough.”
Pushing the deception on Thursday’s Today show, co-host Savannah Guthrie proclaimed: “Before she got to the national stage, Senator Harris was a prosecutor in California. And this morning, her record is coming under new scrutiny, as would be expected, as she’s now at the top of the ticket.”
Correspondent Gabe Gutierrez then had the gall to suggest the “scrutiny” was over the left-wing Democrat not appealing to the far left: “Senator Harris has faced criticism from all sides. Some Republicans are now blasting her for being too far left, but she has plenty of critics in California who say she was not progressive enough.”
“Now that she’s sharing the national stage with Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and her record as a prosecutor are under renewed scrutiny,” the reporter asserted, before laughably fretting: “But even as a Democratic rising star, she frustrated some on the left.” A soundbite ran of San Francisco Democratic Party chair David Campos complaining: “She did not turn out to be, from our perspective, the progressive prosecutor that she promised to be when many of us supported her.”
Gutierrez worried: “Do you believe she sided with the police too much?” Campos replied: “Yeah, I believe so. I believe that she did not do enough to hold law enforcement accountable.”
However, later in the report, Gutierrez made sure to preach Democratic Party unity ahead of the November election: “Still, despite their disagreements, some of her previous critics in California are now urging progressives to rally around the Biden-Harris ticket.” Campos urged: “What’s more important to me is to make sure we get Donald Trump out of the White House.”
Wrapping up the deceitful segment, Gutierrez hyped “mixed messages” about Harris’s record: “President Trump has tried to label Senator Harris as a radical leftist, but some Republicans say that she is not progressive enough to carry those Bernie Sanders supporters.”
There is no “mixed message” about how far left Harris has been as a senator and failed presidential candidate. The American Conservative Union gave her a lifetime score of only three percent when examining her voting record in the Senate. Meanwhile, GovTrack found Harris to be the “most liberal” member of the legislative body.
During her brief, failed presidential run, Harris endorsed every far-left policy imaginable: Medicare for All, eliminating private health insurance, the Green New Deal, seizing peoples’ guns, lowering the voting age to 16, and allowing violent criminals like the Boston Bomber to vote.
During an earlier tease of Gutierrez’s report on Thursday, Guthrie told viewers: “And then just ahead this morning, the new scrutiny on the Democratic VP pick, Senator Kamala Harris, over her record as a prosecutor and her voting history on Capitol Hill. We’ll take a closer look and hear what's being said in her home state of California as well.” Conveniently, Harris’s Senate record was never examined.
NBC is desperate to protect Harris from any criticism or facts that reveal her radical ideology. The network is complicit in a cover-up of the truth designed to manipulate voters into thinking the Biden-Harris ticket is the moderate choice in November.
The Democratic propaganda was brought to viewers by Google and Target. You can fight back by letting these advertisers know what you think of them sponsoring such content.

7:40 AM ET
CRAIG MELVIN: We are back at 7:40 on this Thursday morning with our Decision 2020 coverage and more on Joe Biden’s new running mate, Senator Kamala Harris.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: That’s right. Before she got to the national stage, Senator Harris was a prosecutor in California. And this morning, her record is coming under new scrutiny, as would be expected, as she’s now at the top of the ticket. NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez joins us with a closer look. Gabe, good morning.
GABE GUTIERREZ: Savannah, good morning. Senator Harris has faced criticism from all sides. Some Republicans are now blasting her for being too far left, but she has plenty of critics in California who say she was not progressive enough.
[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Kamala Harris: On the Record; Inside Look at Her Time as Prosecutor]
Now that she’s sharing the national stage with Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and her record as a prosecutor are under renewed scrutiny. Working first in Oakland, then elected as San Francisco’s district attorney.
KAMALA HARRIS: That I will support and defend.
GUTIERREZ: She eventually was the first black woman to become Attorney General of California.
HARRIS: My whole life, I’ve only had one client, the people.
GUTIERREZ: But even as a Democratic rising star, she frustrated some on the left.
DAVID CAMPOS [SAN FRANCISCO DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIR]: She did not turn out to be, from our perspective, the progressive prosecutor that she promised to be when many of us supported her.
GUTIERREZ: David Campos is a former member of San Francisco’s police commission, which oversees the police department, he also worked with Harris when they were both deputy city attorneys. Do you believe she sided with the police too much?
CAMPOS: Yeah, I believe so. I believe that she did not do enough to hold law enforcement accountable.
GUTIERREZ: As the state’s attorney general, Harris did not intervene in a series of high-profile officer-involved shootings, but she’s also faced criticism from police unions. In 2004, she refused to seek the death penalty for a man who killed a San Francisco officer.
HARRIS [JULY 2019]: Frankly, there are those who would like to put my experience as a prosecutor into a negative. But I’m going to tell you, as a prosecutor, I – I am very proud of my record.
GUTIERREZ: Harris won praise for creating a state database of crime statistics that included the use of force by police, she also began requiring state justice department agents to wear body cameras.
HARRIS: I am one of the first elected prosecutors in the country to have started a reentry initiative focused on first-time drug sales offenders.
GUTIERREZ: During her time as California’s top cop, she developed a close friendship with Delaware’s attorney general, Beau Biden. Her policies also drew support from President Obama, though he also once apologized for calling Harris the best looking attorney general in the country.
Still, despite their disagreements, some of her previous critics in California are now urging progressives to rally around the Biden-Harris ticket.
CAMPOS: What’s more important to me is to make sure we get Donald Trump out of the White House.
GUTIERREZ: So there’s been some mixed messages here. The Trump campaign – President Trump has tried to label Senator Harris as a radical leftist, but some Republicans say that she is not progressive enough to carry those Bernie Sanders supporters. The Trump campaign has clearly made law and order a critical part of its campaign over the next few months. So, Savannah, should be interesting to see how this plays out.
GUTHRIE: Alright, Gabe Gutierrez with a deeper look, thank you very much. We appreciate it.
