You Are FAKE NEWS: Cuomo Cooks Up Right-Wing ‘Markle Madness’ Obsession

Posted on 09 March 2021

With noticeably bloodshot eyes, CNN Prime Time host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo spent most of his A-block cooking up a fake news story about how everyone in the Republican Party was supposedly obsessed with former British royal Meghan Markle. According to his completely fabricated theory, the right was experiencing “Markle madness” because they hated minorities and wanted to take away voting rights. Fredo cited absolutely ZERO evidence as he spouted off nonsense about Markle and Dr. Seuss being the reason congressional Republicans didn’t want to help struggling Americans with the COVID relief bill: Question: Why is the most sweeping legislation in decades to help lift Americans out of poverty just hours away from passing, but without any support from the right side of the aisle? The answer: Meghan Markle and a doll lop of Dr. Seuss. Let me argue. Many of the rights party’s constituents are struggling from a pandemic that they long denied. But with a president they want to lose, they’re making a choice: duck real problem-solving in favor of culture fights. Be a true opposition party. One that opposes whatever it can as a proxy for getting anything done. They are simply against. And the top of the list is against owning the reality of racism. It was a continuation of the hate-filled screed he spewed against congressional Republicans the previous night. “If that's not true, why else is there this Markle madness on the right,” he asked himself. Of course, he had the twisted answer for his own twisted question.     Still citing no soundbites, screenshots, or web traffic statistics as evidence of the supposed Markle obsession, Fredo proclaimed it was all about race. “Something struck a nerve with them. Was it a multi-racial woman speaking out against an institutional white royal family? ‘Oh, no, no it's not about that.’ Then what is it about that,” he bloviated. Fredo couldn’t even find any soundbites from CNN’s favorite hate object, Fox News to back up his ridiculous premise. But he did manage to make an Evel Knievel size jump to tie his fictitious claims of “Markle Madness” to equally false claims that Republicans were targeting minorities with voter suppression efforts and hate the poor: Could it be that the opposition party is passing laws that disenfranchise minorities; that are all but a constructive fraud regarding election fairness; as their strategy to oppose racial progress; and to help their chances of winning elections? Is it any better reason that now they don't want to help people out of poverty when they know a disproportionate number of the people are minorities? Though, there are way more poor white folks who are also going to be caught up in their opposition obsession. “Is this why this notion of just be against. Is this why they would rather debate books I have never heard of from Dr. Seuss, than deal with the reality of January 6th,” he shouted. “A white supremacist terror attack about which they have decided to spin a tale stranger than anything Seuss ever wrote.” He got so worked up over a controversy he invented. In reality, NewsBusters had documented evidence and statistics that proved it was the broadcast networks who had the obsession with Markle. Evening using it to distract from his brother’s nursing home and sexual harassment scandals. Chris Cuomo’s cooked up smear against Republicans was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Flonase and Life Alert. The answer: Meghan Markle and a doll lop of Dr. Seuss. Let me argue. Many of the rights party’s constituents are struggling from a pandemic that they long denied. One that opposes whatever it can as a proxy for getting anything done. They are simply against. And the top of the list is against owning the reality of racism. If that's not true, why else is there this Markle madness on the right? Why are they so concerned about this story and whether or not it's true? After four years of empowering the biggest liar in presidential history, now you’ve got a thing for truth? Doubtful. Tonight, the Queen doesn't deny accusations of racism from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry against the royal family in the family's first public statement since the bomb drops. But people here on the right continue to savage Markle and her story. Something struck a nerve with them. Was it a multi-racial woman speaking out against an institutional white royal family? “Oh, no, no it's not about that.” Then what is it about that? The royals aren't questioning what she says about race being used against her by some of them. They don't even deny her and Prince Harry’s allegations about conversations with an unnamed someone questioning how dark the skin of the unborn child would be. So, why are so many here on the right fringe unable to accept the story? Could it be that the opposition party is passing laws that disenfranchise minorities; that are all but a constructive fraud regarding election fairness; as their strategy to oppose racial progress; and to help their chances of winning elections? Is it any better reason that now they don't want to help people out of poverty when they know a disproportionate number of the people are minorities?
