In just 24 hours, CNN Tonight host Don Lemon flaunted his hypocrisy and two-faced nature as he first bragged about how he would “treat people as humans” on Wednesday; only to lose his cool on Thursday as he shouted about how people who didn’t like wearing masks or criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci should learn how to be “a decent human being.” This was all spurred on by a combative exchange Fauci had with Republican Senator Rand Paul (KY) during a Senate hearing earlier in the day.
“We’ve been dealing with these topics of race and bigotry and unconscious bias a lot lately. We need to do something about it. I am going to run. I love you. I’m going to get to it,” Lemon pontificated to friend and fellow CNN host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo during Wednesday’s handoff.
Lemon then boasted about their friendship made them better people: “I love you, brother. I love you. More relationships like this so we treat people as humans and we see the humanity in each other and not as some other and demonizing other people. So, thank you, Chris. I love you, brother.”
Now, Lemon did speak badly about Republicans during his show that night, but the poetry of handoff vs. handoff made for a fun showcase of his hypocrisy.
It didn’t take long on Thursday for Lemon to start shouting about how much of a better person he was because he listened to Fauci (Click “expand”):
How about what the President said? Give me a patriot passport, give me a better countryman passport, give me an American passport that says we should look out for our fellow man.
This is not about being selfish. Hey, I got mine. You get yours. That's what people are saying. So, if I get this -- if I get the shot, let's say I'm fully vaccinated tomorrow, I'm not going to run out and flaunt it and then take this mask and, like, oh, throw caution to the wind, I'm going to burn it. You know why? Because I care about other people. I care about something more than myself.
I care that there may be someone who has a preexisting condition who may not have been vaccinated. I care that there is a woman who is trying to get pregnant, who has concerns about the vaccine, and may not have taken it yet.
“I am a thinking, compassionate, empathetic person, and I just don't have politics at the top of my head,” he howled.
As Fredo just nodded along and repeatedly said “I agree,” Lemon lashed out at the right. “Why don't you be a patriot, why don’t you just be a decent human being and stop trying to be so negative and get Dr. Fauci or Joe Biden,” he sneered.
This was all spurred on by a combative exchange Fauci's combative exchange with Paul.
Of course, Lemon’s self-righteous shrieking deviated to singing the praises of President Joe Biden:
Guess what, here's the thing, here's the thing, Joe Biden is doing a fantastic job when it comes to the pandemic. He's saying all the right things. He's doing all the right things. He's getting shots in people's arms. He's following the science. He's not giving you lies. He's not telling you that light and bleach and disinfectant is going to help you when you inject it inside of your body.
And he also made sure to talk about how terrible former President Trump was:
So, stop it on the right because the guy you had in the office did really dumb stuff, and told you crazy things and lied about you, gaslighted [sic] you, and you fell for it and you believed it; and now you're walking around and you don't want to get the vaccine. Why? Because you say you don't trust it but you really don't want to get it because Joe Biden is doing a great job with it.
“And that is the truth. Now take that to the bank. Or as my grandmother used to say, put that in your pipe and smoke it,” he quipped.
That check bounced and smoking causes cancer. This is CNN.

DON LEMON: We’ve been dealing with these topics of race and bigotry and unconscious bias a lot lately. We need to do something about it. I am going to run. I love you. I’m going to get to it.
CHRIS CUOMO: You know what I’d do about it. All the hate, all of it directed at minorities, directed at others, you know what it makes me do?
LEMON: What?
CUOMO: It makes me love you more, D Lemon.
LEMON: I love you, brother. I love you. More relationships like this so we treat people as humans and we see the humanity in each other and not as some other and demonizing other people. So, thank you, Chris. I love you, brother.

CHRIS CUOMO: I agree.
LEMON: Or a woman who is pregnant --
CUOMO: I agree.
LEMON: -- who has not taken the vaccine because she's worried about her unborn kid. I get that? Because why? I am a thinking, compassionate, empathetic person, and I just don't have politics at the top of my head.
